English Language Services

Grange Education Consultancy Services works with international partners to deliver a range of English language services. 

Quality Assurance

We advise universities, colleges and schools internationally on developing quality assured English language curricula and learning materials, and we provide an English language curriculum review service for internal and external audit purposes.

Capacity Building

We advise universities, colleges and schools internationally on professional development for English teachers, and conduct teacher training workshops for teachers of English and literacy skills to enhance their teaching practices.

Materials Design

We work with international educational publishers to write, design and edit English language course books for pre-school, primary, secondary, university and adult learners.

Quality Assurance Activities

BC

In his capacity as the British Council’s Director of English for China, Grahame coordinated all English language training services across China in collaboration with Chinese provincial directorates in ten provinces (2008-2011).

BP

As the Chair of the International Review Panel at Bahrain Polytechnic, Grahame coordinated the review of the Polytechnic’s English Centre in 2016.

HCT

As Dean of General Education at the Higher Colleges of Technology in the United Arab Emirates, Grahame was responsible for all quality assurance for English across the network’s then fourteen colleges. While there, he coordinated creation of the network’s new Learning Model, work for which he was awarded the 2007 HCT Innovation Award.

HKPU

As Professor and Head of the Department of English at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Grahame coordinated all departmental quality assurance activities, including the Teaching and Learning Quality Process Review (1996-2005).

HKPU

As Assistant Director of the Centre for Professional & Business English at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Grahame coordinated all quality assurance activities related to the Centre’s corporate language training activities (1990-1996).

Capacity Building Activities

BC

As the British Council’s Director of English for China, Grahame was responsible for giving talks and seminars to teachers of English throughout China, and for coordinating primary and secondary school staff exchange between the UK and China in collaboration with Chinese provincial governments. He was also co-Editor in Chief of the Chinese Journal of Applied Linguistics, a forum for sharing good practices among teachers of English in China (2008-2011).

BU

As Professor of English Linguistics at the University of Bahrain, Grahame led the teaching team of the undergraduate degree in English (2008).

HKPU

As Professor and Head of the Department of English at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Grahame was responsible for the ongoing professional development of all teachers in his department. He was also involved in teaching on the Master’s programme in English Language Teaching (1996-2005).

HKVEP

On secondment from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to the Hong Kong Education & Manpower Branch, Grahame served as Head of the Hong Kong Vocational English Programme (HKVEP), designing a national curriculum and assessment framework for assuring the quality of vocational English teaching in Hong Kong (1993- 1996).

HKPU

As Assistant Director of the Centre for Professional & Business English at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Grahame was responsible for the ongoing professional development of all teachers in his Centre in order to ensure that their teaching practices met the standards of the University (1990-1993).

Materials Design Activities

As an author for Longman and Pearson Education, Grahame has written a number of best-selling self-study and coursebooks in English for Specific Purposes, English for Academic Purposes, and primary English for Hong Kong and China.

As authors for Jumpstart Publishers, Grahame and Angie have written several highly successful textbook series for pre-school and primary learners of English.
