Grange Education Consultancy Services works with international higher education partners to help them systematically enhance academic standards. 

Quality Assurance

We work with quality assurance agencies and serve on audit and accreditation panels; we also help tertiary institutions to fine-tune their quality assurance processes, and to prepare for external audit and review.

Capacity Building

We help tertiary institutions to develop strategies for staff development, design professional development programmes, and conduct teacher training for academic staff across disciplines

Student Recruitment

We work collaboratively with universities to conduct pre-entry tests and interviews with international students applying to study in a range of disciplines.

Quality Assurance Activities

HKU LOGO

As Director of the University of Hong Kong’s Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL), Grahame assisted with the fine-tuning of the University’s quality assurance processes and served as an internal member of the University Grants Committee’s Quality Assurance Council Audit (2013-2020).

HKUSPACE LOGO

Grahame Bilbow served on the School of Professional and Continuing Education’s quality assurance committee and provided support to prepare them for the University Grants Committee’s Quality Assurance Council Audit external audit and the internal review conducted by the University of Hong Kong (2018-2020).

UGC LOGO

As a trained QAC auditor, Grahame served as an audit panel member for the UGC QAC audits of the Hong Kong Baptist University and the Education University of Hong Kong (2017-2018).

NUS LOGO

As a member of the National University of Singapore’s External Review Panel, Grahame externally reviewed all applications for senior staff promotion and tenure on the University’s Educator Track (2016-2018).

HEA

As Assistant Director of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom, Grahame led all quality assurance policy and strategy activities across the United Kingdom in the Arts and Humanities (2011-2012).

Capacity Building Activities

As Director of the University of Hong Kong’s Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning, Grahame coordinated all professional development activities across the University, and ran many training seminars to share and enhance curriculum, assessment and pedagogical practices. He successfully led the University’s accreditation of an HEA Fellowship Scheme at AF, F and SF levels (2013-2020).

Grahame Bilbow designed and conducted a series of professional development seminars for academic staff on preparing teaching portfolios, and provided advice on teaching and learning operations at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman (2018).

As Assistant Director of the Higher Education Academy in the United Kingdom, Grahame Bilbow coordinated all centralised and devolved professional development activities in the Arts and Humanities across the United Kingdom, and ran many training seminars to share good practices in curriculum and assessment design and pedagogy (2011-2012).

As Dean of General Education at the Higher Colleges of Technology based in Abu Dhabi, and working across the then fourteen colleges in the network, Grahame coordinated all centralised training across the network and ran many training seminars to share good pedagogical practices in English, Mathematics, Arabic and Computing (2005-2007).

Student Recruitment Activities

On behalf of the Admissions and Academic Liaison Section of the University of Hong Kong’s Registry, Grahame contributed to many recruitment and outreach trips to South Korea, China and India. Over the years, he interviewed many hundreds of undergraduate student applicants to the University (2013-2020).

As Director of the Harvard University/ University of Hong Kong Crimson Summer Exchange programme, Grahame coordinated the programme in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Hangzhou, China. The programme is designed for Chinese teenagers preparing to enter international higher education (2017-2018).

Qualified as an IELTS examiner since 1993, Grahame Bilbow has assessed hundreds of candidates in multiple locations around the world.
